Best Anti-Spam Solution?

Yeah, like the rest of us, I hate spam. Big surprise.
Well, it's not so much that I hate spam... after all, I don't read it. What I hate is scrolling through 55 junk emails to find the three legitimate ones. I can recognize spam by the subject and patterns. So why can't software?
Using Yahoo or Microsoft mail isn't much better. Yahoo does a decent job of filtering spam, Microsoft sells spammers our addresses. To prove the later, I once created a new Hotmail account with my normal name followed by a random selection of letters and numbers. I never used the account except to email myself a reminder of the address. Sure enough, a month later that account was full of spam.
Then there's Gmail, Googles excellent email service. Funny thing, I almost NEVER see spam in my Gmail mailbox, it all ends up in the spam folder.
Now my main email account on my domain is getting hammered, though not as bad as my wife's. Despite tightening up Spam Assassin, only a few spam messages were being trapped. The filters I created in my email clients did a much better job.
So last week, just as an experiment, I added my main email account to the accounts section of my Gmail account.
Guess what? No Spam! It all ends up in the spam folder. Legitimate messages are there in my inbox brightly labeled with the email address of the account.
Life is good again!
