Ooh... Something Good About Vista!

I played with Microsoft Vista early on and came to the conclusion that many others have since come to. Vista is pretty but other than that...

I have Vista installed on my MacBook Pro 17" notebook. I run it AND Windows XP using VMWare Fusion as there are some Windows programs I really don't want to give up, I write software programs for Windows so I need to test them and I have to do customer support from time to time. It'd be really embarrassing for a customer to call me and I can't help them as I don't know where things are in Vista.

Anyway, today I found "Blogger Buddy" a handy gadget for Vista's Sidebar. Blogger Buddy is just a quick way to make news posts to a Blogger blog. It has the normal bold, italic, underscore, image tag, link and unordered list tag buttons for basic formatting.

In fact, I'm using it to write this post!

It isn't fancy or full featured, but it works.

Anyway, just this gadget isn't enough to make me switch, but it IS handy for those of you running blogs, using Microsoft Vista AND using Google's Blogger to host your blog.

FOXNews.com - Lawmakers Could Consider Gas Tax Hike, After Gas Tax Holiday Fails

As if fuel prices aren't high enough. Our Congress Critters are getting in line to shaft us even more.

WASHINGTON — The political vision of a summer gas tax holiday died a quick death in Congress, losing to a view that federal excise taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel will have to go up if they go anywhere.

Despite calls from the presidential campaign trail for a Memorial Day-to-Labor Day tax freeze, lawmakers quickly concluded — with a prod from the construction industry — that having $9 billion less to spend on highways could create a pre-election specter of thousands of lost jobs.

Now, lawmakers quietly are talking about raising fuel taxes by a dime from the current 18.4 cents a gallon on gasoline and 24.3 cents on diesel fuel.

The Rest of the Story
