Gere: Clinton 'misspoke in the moment'

Actor Richard Gere told Wolf Blitzer in an interview on Monday that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “misspoke in the moment” when she said that human rights “can’t interfere with the global economic crisis.”

What Part of "Shall Not Be Infringed" Don't You Understand?

Back in September of last year i blogged about the dumbing down of America as part of the "the biggest threat to a tyrannical government" which is "An educated, armed and mobile populace."

For almost 100 years, the Federal Government has imposed more and more restrictions on the private ownership of firearms. Starting with the exorbitant Federal tax on full automatic weapons and short barreled shotguns in 1934 through the Gun Control act of 1968 to the Brady Bill and "Assault Weapons Ban" of 1994, our Federal Government has continued to infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of our citizens.

Considering that the 2nd Amendment was ratified in 1791, I'd guess that it is safe to say that the obsolete usage of "frustrate or defeat" applies in this usage as well.

Last year, the United States Supreme Court finally ruling (as most of us believed anyway) that the Second Amendment refers to an individual right, not right of the states.

Add to this the definition of "infringe" and every Federal law regarding firearms ownership or usage by individuals is unconstitutional. The same with state laws on the subject provided that the state based their constitution on the Federal one and included such a statement.
